City of Dreams Manila slated to open on Sunday City of Dreams Manila, the $1.3-billion integrated casino and resort facility of Melco Crown Philippines Corp., is opening its doors to the public on Sunday, becoming the second operational project in Entertainment City. Melco said in a disclosure to the stock exchange it received the notice to commence casino operations from state-owned Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. City of Dreams Manila will be the second integrated casino resort to open in government-sponsored Entertainment City in Parañaque City, after Solaire Resort and Casino of Bloomberry Resorts Corp. “City of Dreams Manila will commence operations on 14 December 2014, with a grand opening of the integrated resort planned before Chinese New Year in 2015,” Melco Crown said. City of Dreams Manila vice president Charisse Chuidian said in an e-mail message some components of the casino project would be opened during the soft opening. “The hotel restaurants will be available at the preview, the mass gaming area and some food outlets adjacent to it, some retail shops, one of the nightclubs,” Chuidian said. The $1.3-billion project, once completed, will have six hotel towers including the 260-room Crown Towers hotel, 321-room Nobu Hotel Manila and Hyatt Hotel as well as restaurants, bars, gaming facilities and a multi-level car park.
