City of Lethbridge snow clearing update: Whoop-up Drive will - TopicsExpress

City of Lethbridge snow clearing update: Whoop-up Drive will remain 60 kilometres per hour (60 km/h) until further notice. Motorists are cautioned that in spite of the sand and salt that has been applied to the roads since the snow began, the underlying roadways are very slippery. With extreme low temperatures like today, de-icing techniques are ineffective. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution on bridge decks and intersections within and around the City of Lethbridge. Sanding continues on all streets including residential areas. For more information on the City’s Snow & Ice Control Program please go to lethbridge.ca/winterroads and click on “Information about the Snow and Ice Control Program” under Public Notices. Motorists are advised to keep a safe distance from snow plows and sand trucks. Residents are reminded the City of Lethbridge does supply sand for icy sidewalks. Public sand can be found near the corner of 4th Avenue North and 7th Street North - please bring your own bucket. Snowfighters will continue to work around the clock to help “keep you on the move”.
