Civic Attendant (External) Blackpool Council - Blackpool Part-time The opportunity has arisen for a highly-motivated and professional individual to join our busy Civic team. The job will mainly entail attending and advising the Mayors and civic representatives of both Blackpool Council and Fylde Borough Council at engagements and provide chauffeuring duties in relation to these. The postholder will also assist in arranging the necessary maintenance of the civic cars and regalia, act as toastmaster and/or macebearer at civic events. You must possess strong communication skills, be confident in public speaking and have a full driving licence. You should demonstrate astute political awareness, tact and diplomacy and have experience of working in local government or the public sector in an advisory capacity. An awareness of civic protocols would be beneficial although training will be provided. ICT skills are also necessary as the postholder will be required to provide administrative support for the civic office. The hours for the post will be based on an average of 23 hours per week to be worked on an annualised hours basis according the needs of service. This will involve daytime, evening and weekend work including bank holidays. The closing date for applications is 5pm on 05/09/2014.
