Civil Disobedience What is Civil Disobedience? Is it a group of people smoking a joint in public a couple times a year? Is it some fool leading hundreds of armed Patriots on to a bridge with no protection or escape? Is it someone in a car with a video camera refusing to show a cop their drivers license? According to the dictionary, Civil Disobedience is the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest. Does refusing to complying with a law for one day, but complying with the same law the other 364 day of the years have any meaning? Does Civil Disobedience do anything to change the law? The answer to most of these questions is NO. Standing in a group of 10,000 people smoking a joint until the cops show up is not civil disobedience. Blowing the smoke in the cops face is. Until a large number of people are willing to commit to a "refusal to comply" to unjust laws, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, all your doing is blowing smoke up your own ass. You would be better off collecting signatures to petition your state to change the laws.
