Civil War Diary of John J. McKee August 20th, 1863 -------------------------------------------------- 20th Left Corinth with the baggage of the Regiment at 9:30 A.M. and after a pleasant ride on top of a box car arrived at LaGrange Tennessee at a little after 12 and guarded the baggage until the teams could come and hall [sic] it to the camp of the Regiment which is at the edge of the city. After the baggage was halled [sic] over, went to camp and found the Regiment in little wedge tents not big enough for more than four men. Mess No (1) broke up and I have been initiated into mess no 8 with I. K. = W. T. S. and J. T. R. --------------------------------------------------
