Clang Oh, and another one. Clang... One of the great things, and there are many, about being in this business and for SO long is the myriad of truly famous people Ive met along the way. Some were frigid, some pretentious beyond belief. Others human, warm and very funny. Sometimes it was just a handshake, sometimes a conversation. Every so often dinner. Photo-shoots and films could take a few days. Several have become and remain, to this day, good friends. I met my first member of Hollywood Royalty at 18 when still a St. Martins student - truly in drooling awe then. Another 1/2 dozen or so before 24 and the Queen of Hollywood a year later. Ive not been so easily impressed since. For me fame is fame, talent is talent and a lovely human being is a lovely human being - the 3rd being by far the most covetable. Clang .. So it does make me smile to see the amount of name dropping that goes on here. What is it for? (On the other hand mentioning your client(s) is not the same thing. That is great and necessary PR and FB is a perfect conduit) Of course it also nourishes most of our insecurities. Our fragile, invisible egos must be boosted but needing to have nebulous connections applauded seems well, rather sad. BTW, did I tell you about my hilarious afternoon tea with the Queen of Malaysia? Well.....
