Clarissa and her friend are doing a project for school that involves making a cake shaped as the island in Lord of the Flies. She asks me this morning to go out and get her some corn syrup that they can use to make Piggies glass. While at the store, she calls and says that they need powdered sugar for the frosting. Two minutes later she calls and says that they are also out of granulated sugar. So I get it all. Apparently they are working on a reading of Lord of the Flies that has a bunch of English kids getting stranded on an island and contracting diabetes.
