Class 33 families!!! Your Candidates have been working so very hard these last two weeks. They have been through lots of physical and emotional challenges and have now entered in to Red Phase. I am so proud to say that Class 33 started with 212 candidates, and, today we have 212 Cadets!!! Please keep the encouragement and motivation coming! Diamonds dont start out as diamonds. It is only through intense pressure that the true treasure inside is revealed. Each one of these young men and women is a treasure. Now is the time they learn to break off all of the negative and bad things from the past and, with the dedicated Grizzly staff to guide them, they will begin to rebuild and see the treasure and value within themselves. They started school today and soon youll be getting letters home that tell you about how good their grades are. Youll start to see the pride they feel in their accomplishments. What is Red Phase you ask? Red Phase: To graduate from the Acclamation phase to Red Phase, the Cadets have to: 1. Show a positive attitude and willingness to want to move forward. 2. The platoon needs 80% to pass the Cadet Handbook test. 3. Show a basic knowledge of the Drill & Ceremony movements. 4. Maintain basic standards of barracks and personal area of operations. 5. Know the Cadet Creed. 6. Explain the meaning of the Cadet Honor code. While in Red Phase: 1. Cadre will begin the process of building confidence and target the Cadets motivation to promote self-worth. 2. Red Phase is physically challenging but less intensive. 3. At this time, team building concepts are bought to the Cadets. They will begin to trust each other and their Cadre more. And now, the privileges: 1. Cadets will sound off while marching. 2. Cadets will hold leadership positions. 3. Platoon may organize community service activities. 4. Platoon will start to learn and use the Principles of Leadership. 5. The Cadets will be issued and allowed to wear the Academy uniforms (BDUs). Have a great weekend and enjoy your phone calls home!
