Class envy I am not envious of the rich. If they are there - TopicsExpress

Class envy I am not envious of the rich. If they are there through hard work, smarts and honesty, all applause to them. Let me give you an example of what actually makes me mad. Theres this man who starts a business. This man borrowed in the millions. The first thing he bought is an expensive European car. He lives a very lavish lifestyle with learning trips at exotic places and hotels. Expectedly, with lack of business skills, his business failed. But he gets bailed out. By contacts of friends, family or maybe the government. That is the kind of rich businessman we shouldnt emulate. Now, my point is. There are certain traits of rich business people have that others dont. Like taking risks, balancing cash flow, imagining something and make it happen. Traits that most people dont have. The story i want to tell is about the bumiputra rights to increase their wealth ownership of a country. If all equal, what i mean is opportunities like access to funds and network, then those top 5% of society with grit, gumption and those who possess the traits to be a successful entrepreneur should receive assistance. Much like the government scholarship, those with good academic results with entrance to world class unis, should be given help. You are changing their lives, which otherwise, except being born to priviledge, wont. So, its the same thing with trying to help the bumi entrepreneurs. On paper, it looks good. But when you give a monkey a diamond ring, instead of bettering themselves with skills and experience, they become addicted to help. That said, for the race to riches, i believe in free competition, provided the starting line is equal. For those who dont have the tenacity to be a successful businessman, should swallow the fact that they are not cut out for it. Dont give them false hopes and an entitlement mentality. Oh btw, the businessman i talked about has failed in his 3rd venture. People like that should just leave them take their own losses. If they are really good at learning from mistakes, they will rise up the second time
