Class of 1999: On behalf of the reunion committee, I am excited to announce plans for a 15 year class reunion to be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 at a venue to be determined (in Monessen). Committee members consist of Vice President John Novicki, Treasurer Steph DiPiazza (Dugan), Secretary Lauren Nahas, Entertainment Coordinator Chuck Keller, Classmate Kate DeLuca, and me…President Matt Byron. After dusting off the old yearbook and going through the archives, we have established an invitation list consisting of 62 members. With the assistance of facebook, we are fortunate to have most class members already on our contact list and have invited you to join the online group. It is critical that we gauge interest by April 1st since we want to establish a confirmed guest list in order to determine the price of admission on a per-person basis and give the caterer a realistic number. There will hopefully be NO fund raising involved as the price of your ticket will include cost of the rental hall, catered dinner, dessert, entertainment (DJ), and activities for all. There will be a cash bar in order to keep cost down. Drinks will be set at a generously affordable price, so I assure you this will not be all that expensive to pay out-of-pocket. Each class member will be allowed to bring one guest at the same admission price as you pay. Since we are such a small group, we have decided to extend an invitation to a select group of teachers along with Principal Randall Marino. This will also help to keep the price of admission low and give you the opportunity to reminisce with those who made an impact on you in one way or another. We will gauge interest at that level and have a list of teachers who have committed to the event at a later date in time. It is astounding to see how many class members still live in the general area and Monessen itself, which should make for a great turnout. However, we need your assistance in locating the following class members as soon as possible: Dion Bush, Earl Crosby, Erik Harter, Nate Melser, and Cortez Tiller. Your assistance is greatly appreciated! If all goes well and we have enough class members willing to attend, we will post more details regarding the venue, entertainment, food selection, activities, cost of admission, and possible party gifts. We would also like to have an ice-breaker event the evening before the reunion and anyone interested in attending the Monessen vs. Serra Catholic football game on Friday, September 12th would certainly be able to do so. Plans can be made to park and meet at the New Alpine Club on Graham Blvd. for happy hour and then walk over to the stadium. This event will help make it a weekend long event for those who are traveling back home and give us all a night in the stands with classmates & any family members or friends you would like to bring along.
