Classical Turkey Tour 9N10D..... Day 1- Istanbul Welcome to Istanbul! A city steeped in history, the land of Byzantine and Ottoman empires. We will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel after a welcome briefing about the tour ahead. (Subject to arrival time - Visit the spices market with all shops,The Rustempacha mosque and Cruise on the Bosphorus-). Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight in İstanbul at the selected hotel. Day 2- Istanbul Discover the Byzantine and Otoman treasures of İstanbul. Visit the Royal Topkapı Palace, home of the Ottoman Sultans for nearly 400 years; Hagia Sophia- formerly a Church, later an imperial Mosque and presently one of the best museums in the world. It is considered as one of the most impressive architectonic wonders in history. The Blue Mosque unique with six minarets; the Roman Hipodrome, the ancient stadium for horse racing. Return to the hotel. Overnight in İstanbul. Day 3- Ankara – Cappadocia Visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations – an award winning museum. The exhibits of gold, silver, glass, marble and bronze works date back as far as the second half of the first millennium BC. Later, visit the Masoleum of Ataturk,the first President and the founder of modern Turkey. Our tour will continue with a bus ride to Cappadocia. Dinner and Overnight in Cappadocia. Day 4- Cappadocia Today you can have Hot Air-Balloon Trip (Optional) in the morning. Enjoy full day Cappadocia visit, including Goreme Open Air Museum; listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984, Avanos the pottery making town, the natural citadel of Uchisar. Later, observation of a regional pottery workshop in a cave. Dinner and Overnight in Cappadocia. Day 5-Cappadocia – Pamukkale On our way to Pamukkale you will be visiting the Mausoleum of Sufi philosopher Mevlana Jelaladdin Rumi, the world famous mystic poet and Islamic spiritual leader who founded the sect of the “Whirling Dervishes”. Then continue to Pamukkale; the ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine city of Hierapolis was built on top of this “ white castle “ . Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale. Day 6- Pamukkale- Kusadasi Visit Hierapolis – a UNESCO World Heritage site, situated above the snow-white terrace basins of Pamukkale. Enjoy the hot springs in your hotel. Then continue to Kusadasi, dinner and overnight in Kusadasi. Day 7-Ephesus – House of Virgin Mary – Kusadasi Visit the famous Ephesus, an ancient Greek city founded in 8th Century BC, in the morning; In the Roman period it was for many years the second largest city of the Roman Empire; ranking behind Rome, the empire’s capital. Then we will visit the House of Virgin Mary on top of Bulbul mountain. Today there is an optional Tour to Sardis; the capital of the ancient kingdom of Lydia. Overnight in Kusadasi. Day 8- Pergamum – Troy – Canakkale Visit Pergamum, an ancient Greek city in the Hellenistic period. It was cited in the book of Revelation as one of the seven churches of Asia. Then a complete visit to the Asclepion, which was known as the first place of medical science. Galen, who originated from Pergamum and became the most famous doctor of his time treated his patients here. Then visit the legendary city of Troy, the Center of the Trojan War – also famous for its wooden horse. Overnight in Canakkale. Day 9- Dardanelles – Gallipoli – Istanbul Today after breakfast we will depart for Gallipoli, famous for being the site of many battles-particularly in World War I. Today we will be visiting the Anzac Cove, Conk Bayiri, Kabatepe War Museum, and Lone Pine cemetery. Drive to İstanbul for overnight. Day 10- Istanbul Morning after breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international flight. End of our services. Return home with wonderful memories!!!
