Classical ballet is my passion. You could also say its my life, as I cannot imagine doing any job not related to it. I fell madly in love with ballet when I was all about six or seven years old, begged my parents for three solid years until they finally gave in to my wish for ballet lessons when I was ten years old. It has been a constant fight for me to be recognized for all the effort Id put into class and rehearsals - to finally be allowed to study ballet properly at a reputable private school, to be coached for ballet exams and to earn prominent roles in school concerts. My dream of becoming a professional dancer never came true, but deep down in my heart Ive always been striving, never ceasing in my longing to be recognized and affirmed for all my hard work, passion and effort. This year end, I will be participating in the Annual Ballet Recital with Little Dance Academy. Paquita is one of my favourite ballets after having watched the Singapore Dance Theatre perform it splendidly. I am grateful for the chance being given to me to learn this wonderful choreography and I do realize how fortunate I am. One of my biggest hopes in life will also be realized this year-end, because I will finally get to dance on the splendid stage of the NAFA Lee Foundation Theatre - a venue where I thought Id never grace its stage again after I quit my Diploma in Dance Studies due to severe knee injuries in 2008. Whether I am a soloist or in the Corps de Ballet, I am so going to give it my all. Being given a chance to dance onstage is a wonderful blessing in itself and I will work my hardest to bring joy to all who watch me in this production. Im just going to really enjoy it, because it might just be my last show this December.
