Claude Monet, Husband Near the village of Vétheuil, - TopicsExpress

Claude Monet, Husband Near the village of Vétheuil, some sixty-nine kilometers to the north of Paris, beyond the small gardens of his cottage, the painter Claude Monet buried his wife Camille. As Camille was the model for the painting “Camille” or “The Woman in the Green Dress” as it later came to be called, I cannot but help to wonder how it must have felt for the husband named Monet to look down in the grave of Camille Monet, his wife and his model for the work that had made him famous; a painting of a beautiful woman in a flowing green dress; that woman who had started such a stir. © Mark MacDonald 2013
