Cleaning your curtains can be easy if you know how! Curtains tend to absorb smells from around the home, such as cooking aromas and cigarette smoke, which can leave the curtains smelling less than fresh and cause slight discolouration. The first option you have is to take them down and put them in the washing machine on a delicate cycle or a cool wash with a slow spin - this works well with lightweight curtains rather than heavier ones - however read the label to ensure that they will not shrink in the wash. Another option you have is to hand wash your curtains, this obviously takes longer but it reduces the risk of the curtains shrinking.
