Cleanliness is Godliness Just think…Christians are like window panes: When dirty they attract attention to themselves, but when clean, people see what beyond. Is—Anonymous People respect those who are neat and tidy. They are more able to place their trust in such people, because to them being neat and tidy shows that you care about details and you are faithful. Your heart may be right, but they can’t always see your heart, so they look for outward signs of what your heart is like. Cleanliness is godliness.—it’s not next to it, it is godliness to be clean. There is a lot in the Bible about keeping clean, in these ceremonial washings of the priests and so on. God was trying to teach people to be clean, that it was important. His priest had to wash his hands for this and wash his hands for that. It constantly tells about how many washings they went through all the time. Cleaning up your surroundings helps you feel better about yourself. Also, it doesn’t just help to keep the house clean, it can help to motivate you to keep your spiritual house—your heart—clean as well. Scrub up your spirit, and that will help you scrub up your appearance too! Be clean! The most important beauty tip is to be clean. People will generally forgive and overlook a poor choice of style or outdated fashions, if it’s obvious that you have a high level of personal hygiene and they can tell that you care about your appearance. A lack of cleanliness can be interpreted as a lack of education, a lack of courtesy and love, a lack of concern, or just plain laziness. Even if you’re well dressed and decked out in makeup and perfume, if you aren’t clean (clean hair‚ nails, feet, skin‚ clothes, etc.), then all of your efforts to look good won’t be very effective, and you’re not going to make a good impression on those that you meet. Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV) Abstain from all appearance of evil. Titus 2:7a in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility. PRAYER: Being clean and tidy may be extra work, but if it shows others that I’m courteous, concerned, and well bred, then I know it’s important for me to do.
