Clenching my teeth in public while enduring tv news coverage of Israels Operation Defensive Edge. While I do not condone Hamas / Palestinians firing explosive rockets into civilian-populated areas, nor do I have The Answer to this conflict that has lasted far too long and cost far too many lives, I will call bullshit on Israel or US media claiming that this military assault by Israel is justified. What were not hearing in our AIPAC-ALEC-sanitized-Bieber-ized pop media that doubles as news organizations is how Israel has been the aggressor against Palestinians for decades now (see map), encroaching on land that both sides agreed was Palestines, bulldozing existing Palestinian homes & building new Israeli ones, while consistently harassing Palestinians who have no choice but to cross borders into Israel to shop, work, visit family, eat and live - often punctuating their bullying with gunfire, imprisonment, beatings and fatalities of elderly, handicapped and children. If I were Palestinian, Id be saying enough also, and resort to whatever means necessary.
