Clergy Appreciation Month- Todays focus....Marvin Fields.... Pastor Fields was my pastor at St. John growing up. He was athletic, fun to be around but stern. He actually got the belt out on a nameless member of our youth choir. The Fields family stayed around the corner from me when I was growing up, and I would spend the night there often. Pastor Fields was always good for making sure we felt loved, affirmed and making sure we were well fed! Pastor Fields also had an affinity for travel with us. There was that one time, in Tennessee at that Dennys none of us will probably ever forget. And I cant possibly acknowledge Pastor Fields without acknowledging Mrs. Fields, who made sure we were poised and ready for whatever christian education issue came our way...Her attention to detail concerning our speech and posture still lingers with me today. Im so very appreciative for their love and support. Pastor Fields is no longer with us, but the love he gave us will last a lifetime. Im so grateful that God saw fot for him to be with us.
