Duty Station Branch Office/ Jordan Field Issue Date 15 September 2013 Deadline for Applications 28 September 2013 Place in the Organisation The incumbent is responsible to the Head of the organizational unit or as may be required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Collects data and other information related to the activities of the organizational unit examining its correctness as required. Prepares, verifies, maintains and updates records in prescribed formats for use by the respective staff; creates, using standard computer applications, back up of records. Maintains the general files and various registers as required such as inventory listings, personnel records of the respective staff, job files and correspondences exchanged with other departments/divisions/sections/units. Performs word processing and other computer duties as required; Performs such other duties as may be required. Minimum Qualifications Completion of full secondary education. Successful completion of a course in business and office practice Two years experience in clerical/secretarial work or any related discipline. · Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic. Competencies · Computer literacy and familiarity with spreadsheets, word processing and data base programme. · Sound organization skills. Desirable Qualifications · Advanced training course in business and office practice. EQUIVALENCY When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of UNRWA Operations may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience. NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
