Click On: DoctorAdvice4u/: *JAPAN: Tropical Storm Francisco (115 kph) -Landfall Blog, Satellites, Maps, Radars, Track on website. - MY BLOG: (6:00 PM JST, Japan Time, 10/24/2013) Francisco is a severe/intense tropical storm with 115 kph sustained winds located east of the Ryukyu Island chain. Francisco is moving to the north at 7 kph and is expected to begin the northeast turn ensuring NO landfall on Japans mainland (See maps below). Although Francisco will be well offshore, plenty of moisture could get drawn into the system causing significant rainfall on the eastern coastline of Japan. Super Typhoon Lekima has still maintained her Category 5 strength with winds of 260 kph. However, both Lekima and Francisco will turn to the northeast preventing any landfall event on Japans mainland. The track of both Lekima and Francisco are posted below on website. Francisco, the weaker of the two typhoons, will more than likely be absorbed into Lekimas circulation, an effect called the Fujiwara Effect. In the wake of Typhoon Wiphas significant rain event leading to landslides and 29 casualites, Japanese officials have evacuated people from Izu Oshima island and other surrounding islets. A repeat landslide event is possible pending the proximity of Franciscos path to Japans mainland; thus, emergency preparations are well underway before Franciscos arrival. The typhoon will traverse Japan from south to north most of Thursday into late Friday; thus, take necessary precautions to protect life and property. The DoctorAdvice4u website will post updates 24/7. Radars and satellites are posted on the website below the extensive typhoon coverage/information/blog. Stay safe.
