Click on the image (below) to see the animation. This is a very simple montage (animated GIF). Just for the pleasure of seeing the movement of Jupiter, the two moons Io and Ganymede to the right of Jupiter and their shadows on the planetary disk. I also find interesting to see that Io seemed to get closer and closer to Ganymede during this capture. Images were captured for a total period of 66 minutes in our backyard in Pointe-aux-Trembles, March 23, 2014 (between 9:22 p.m. and 10:28 p.m.). Simultaneous eclipses of the moons Io and Ganymede are visible at the end of the animated GIF. The two black spots on Jupiter are the shadows of Io (near the equator) and Ganymede (southern tropics), respectively. --------- Sky-Watcher 8-inch Newton Telescope. DBK21AU618.AS camera, Barlow 4X, UV/IR-cut filter, 60fps. 21 videos of 90 seconds were used for this assembly. Stacking with AutoStakkert was quickly realized to obtain 21 images from the 21 videos.
