Some of you are probably well aware of the National Geographic Expedition Granted contest offered through their website and advertised on a number of their digital cable channels and abroad through the Discovery Network also advertising the competition. Ive seen at least one request concerning those who cannot see the page and so Im going to place some useful information here and a pair of links concerning the page itself and hopefully the video that should be easy to access. Ill start with this... The website is on this post. It should be attached to it below the post to my timeline and should be public. As explained in the tips for recording your video follow these simple rules. 1. Record your video on any device that can be transferred to a digital format for upload to National Geographic. In the video tell them... A. Your name, and basic geographical information. B. What your project is and a brief description on how it will impact you and others if it does. C. Describe how the prize money in the contest will help your project. The idea should be something that has never been done and has a positive impact on you or others, pushing the boundaries a little to make it significantly different than others. Follow the Tiger example in the video. It will help you establish a blueprint to how the video should be posted. The video should be UNDER 2 MINUTES. So think of it as a prepared public speech or presentation. From some of the official rules Ive read it should be a clean video - something that can presented to most audiences. I think some of us out there who are in the handicapped community could make a serious difference. If you think youre ready, I invite you to try. First, youll need to look at the official page linked below. Ill then place a comment that leads to the how-to video giving you simple information that can be heard in the comment section.
