Clicker training question! I have been clicker training my dog for a year now. I am using it to mark and treat certain behaviors while we are trick training. Recently I have started to use it to mark a few behaviors in a row and then treat at the end. For example; he gets very overexcited while preforming paw lifts so asking for more than 4 in a row can quickly disintegrate into badly targeted lifts, bringing both paws up etc. So to break the behavior down I am clicking for each paw lift but them rewarding (treating) after 3/4 good lifts in a row. Am I using the clicker wrong? This method does seem to be working but someone said to me the other day that I may be devaluing the clicker marker if I dont reward after each click.
