She performs this exercise by initiating a slight knee bend at the top of the movement to shift her weight to her quads as opposed to sitting back and using more of her posterior chain and glutes. Slight adjustments like this can have a huge impact on the recruitment of muscles in this exercise and is a great way to vary the standard squat.
