Clifton Russell pleaded guilty to the 1st degree murder of Muhammad Ahmad at Mos Grocery store. He was sentenced to 60years in prison. News sources said, that this sentence was arrived at, due the changes in the Texas legislatures ruling on capital punishment for 17 year-old defendants, finding the death penalty to be construed as cruel and unusual punishment. Mr. Ahmad was sentenced to the death penalty and there seems to be no advocate for him, save me. Im sure he would have felt that his punishment was cruel and unusual for going to his business, and busting his ass to pay taxes to a government who doesnt a damn about his treatment by murders and thieves. My personal view is that Russell was old enough to go inside of Mos and shoot and kill Ahmad, like a grown ass man. He should be treated like a grown ass man when the law catches up with him. His treatment isnt cruel and unusual because if a man commits homicide, he should face the death penalty, like any other man. All conditions being the same, if the robbery/murder had occurred 100 years earlier, Russell would have ended his life at the end of a rope. There would have likely not even been a trial, just go out find him or someone that looks like him and execute them on the spot. How far weve come. If our judicial system continue to fail time and time again, how long will it be before their color of authority fades altogether? How much longer will the shopkeeper sit like clay ducks to be shot by these rabid dog defendants? Or perhaps we should arm ourselves and start shooting back, and er, umhh, why bother calling the police at all, Im sure they have better things to do. We can just put out the wet floor signs and mop up the blood, then just put the suspects in the dumpster, like they do for a stray dog that has been run over in the street....... P. S. All district courts, we shall be watching you.
