Climate Change has altered our way of life today that authorities have even become too prudent to declare no classes during continuous downpour. But I agree with my batchmate Lowell Duterte Belarmino that to some degree this denies children to hone their survival skills when they are away from home. I cherish those times from Grade 5 to 4th Year HS (1978 to 1984) in Don Bosco • Cebu Boys Town when the Buhisan creek would overflow during heavy rains, flooding the north eastern half of the entire campus even beyond knee deep high. We would be amazed by the small whirlpools created by the waters getting into the drainage openings. We would place paper boats that sink into those swirling waters when the priests or teachers are not in sight. Then we get to have fun cleaning the campus with debris before going home. #ThrowbackThursday
