Clinical Aguero hands City Champions League Lifeline Sergio Aguero boosted Manchester Citys Champions League hopes by scoring two late goals to record a stunning victory against Bayern Munich. The striker had put City ahead from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by Mehdi Benatia, who was sent off. Bayern responded when Xabi Alonsos free-kick and Robert Lewandowskis header made it 2-1 at the break. But Aguero rescued City with a cool finish to equalise, before completing his hat-trick with a dramatic winner. The win means City, Roma and CSKA Moscow are all level on five points in Group E with one game remaining. Manuel Pellegrinis side go to Roma on 10 December knowing a win, coupled with CSKA failing to beat group winners Bayern Munich, will send them through to the last-16.
