Clinical Immunologist – 5 years post LOCATION: RONDEBOSCH We are seeking a passionate, motivated and highly skilled clinical scientist to join the dynamic academic faculty at the South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative in Cape Town, to perform cutting edge clinical, immunological research in TB pathogenesis and clinical TB vaccine development. The Clinical Immunologist will contribute to ongoing clinical immunology studies and develop their own research agenda aligned with the strategic vision and mission of SATVI, while nurturing and developing young postgraduate and postdoctoral scientists. REQUIREMENTS • One of the following: o MBChB (or equivalent medical qualification), plus at least 5 years experience in clinical immunology or closely related field OR o PhD relevant to vaccinology or immunology, plus at least 5 years postdoctoral experience in clinical immunology or closely related field • Expertise in clinical immunology, demonstrated by employment history, record of publications and successful grant applications The following would be advantageous: • For medical graduates - a PhD or specialist qualification, relevant to clinical immunology • For non-medical graduates – extensive clinical immunology experience • Experience in clinical trials and tuberculosis immunology RESPONSIBILITIES • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively engage with colleagues, collaborators and donors • Record of innovative scientific approach • Demonstrated scientific writing experience, including articles and grants • Graduate and postgraduate teaching/mentoring experience • Management experience KINDLY FORWARD YOUR CV, ID, QUALIFICATIONS AND MOTIVATIONAL LETTER AND GET THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME !!!!
