Clothed in Righteous Acts (Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage supper of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! And he said to me these are the true sayings of God.) Revelation 19:7-9 According to our text, it would seem, to be in order to be the Lambs wife we would be clothed, moving in righteous acts as the early church moved in. It would seem this union of marriage is not for heaven, but for the earth, that righteousness might prevail against the evil darkness. This is the contrast of rising and shining in Isaiah 60 the glory of the Lord that are seen are these righteous acts. This is the Glorious Church that Christ will present to Himself washed in the water of the word without spot, wrinkle, or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. In Matthew 22:1-14 Jesus likens the kingdom of heaven to a king arranging a marriage for His son. Invitation went out, and when the king came to see the guests, he saw a man there that did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen. For those that are called and chosen, it is time to rise with His glory and live above the darkness and let His goodness flow to be light and salt. Rise shine for His glory has come!
