Clouds will be with us throughout the day today as will the strong north wind gusting to 40 mph at times. High temepratures have already been reached and so we will just stay in the 40s for the rest of the day with wind chills in the 30s. Skies will clear out tonight, and that will allow a freeze for parts of north Texas. A FREEZE MAP will be issued this afternoon. It was great to see the widespread rain yesterday! Official totals in the Metroplex ranged from a somewhat disappointing 0.35 in Grand Prairie and 0.38 in Arlington to 1.49 in northern Tarrant County at the Alliance airport. Highest official total in north Texas was 1.97 in Paris in Lamar County of NE Texas! But I have also heard from several of you of rainfall amounts up to 2.5 inches in the McKinney area from that bow-echo storm, although your offical number is 0.90 at the McKinney airport (but then again, who lives at the airport, right :) We only got 0.60 here at the house, but with it coming down so hard, the water ran off the roof into the drains and into the ponds which are both full again! DFW picked up 1.29 bringing our official yearly total to 2.13 which is 4.36 BELOW normal for the year, so yes, the drought continues. But at least we made a little dent this time!
