Clouds will continue to thicken this evening with snow becoming likely overnight. An Alberta Clipper will quickly slide across southern Canada with 1 to 2 inches of snow possible by daybreak. Temperatures overnight will slowly rise into the mid and upper teens. The morning commute will likely be slippery, but the snow will be tapering to scattered snow showers around daybreak. Limited sunshine will develop during the day with winds expected to become gusty out of the southwest. The 5 Degree Guarantee is 24. A shot of Arctic air will sweep in behind the clipper system with temperatures Friday night in the single digits. The colder conditions will result in another round of significant lake effect snow to our west and north with occasional lake effect snow showers and flurries locally. Temperatures will be quite cold to start off the weekend with highs on Saturday only in the mid to upper teens. High pressure centered over the Mid Atlantic region will keep our conditions dry for the most part, although the westerly winds could occasionally push lake effect flurries our way. As the high slides off the coast on Sunday, warmer conditions are expected with highs well up into the 20s to near 30. Our next weather maker will arrive Monday as low pressure over the Great Lakes drags a cold front through our region. Scattered snow showers will be possible followed by sunny, but colder conditions Tuesday and Wednesday.
