Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 at the Pavilion Grab the kids for an evening of FREE family fun including crafts, snacks and a showing of Sony Pictures Animation’s “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2,” at the Suffolk Visitor Center Pavilion. Part of this year’s annual Shamrock Stroll festivities, the cinematic fun kicks off Saturday, March 15, at 6 p.m. in the open-air Pavilion, located at 524 N. Main Street in downtown Suffolk. Showtime is at 6:30 p.m. and snacks are available for purchase benefitting Relay for Life. This PG-rated film’s running time is 90 minutes. Seating is provided, but you may like to bring a jacket or blanket if it’s chilly. “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2” picks up precisely where its hit predecessor left off, with Flint Lockwood (voice of Bill Heder) invited to join the Live Corp Company, and use his gift for invention for the good of mankind. Just as young Flint prepares to go to work for his hero Chester V (voice of Will Forte), however, the young genius learns that his water-to-food machine is not only still functional, but it’s also started cross-breeding animals with food. Now, in order to prevent a growing army of “foodimals” from escaping isolation on an island and wreaking havoc on the mainland, Flint and his loyal group of friends will have to do battle with such delicious, but deadly, hybrids as the ferocious tacodiles, slithering apple pie-thons, and vine-swinging shrimpanzees. Saving the world from these rampaging monstrosities won’t be easy, but if anyone is up to the task, it’s Flint and company. This entertaining sequel also features vocal contributions from Anna Faris, James Caan, Kristen Schaal, Terry Crews, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris and Benjamin Bratt. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than an evening of foodie fun?
