President Liam Shanahan thanked the retiring Captains Pat Nevin and Joanne Mann, Hon. Sec. Steve Crofton and course Chairman, Jim Cummins. Also thanks to Management Committee, Subs. Sec. Martin Donnellan, Lotto Coordinator, Michael Lorigan, Office Administrator, Kathleen Phelan, Ian Williams, and Tony Hendrick. To our Course Staff, Bar Staff and Restaurant, also thanks. He had enjoyed his 3 years as President and he hoped he had served the Club well. Hon. Tres. Jim Ryan gave a comprehensive account of the Club finances. Loss of members (like most Golf Clubs) was a constant worry and he stressed the importance of members supporting the Lotto, and Club Competitions. He thanked our Office Administrator, K Phelan, Frank Cullinan and our Club Accountants Kirwan Bain & Co for all their assistance. Hon. Sec. Steve Crofton gave a run down on all Golfing Affairs including the Major Winners, Diageo Mixed and Algarve, also the work of the Juvenile Committee, P. Loughnane, D. Shanahan and M. Cody. He also listed the issues which Management Committee had dealt with during the past year. He thanked retiring President Liam Shanahan for all his work as President for the past 3 years; some difficult decisions had to be made by Management led by our President Liam. Steve also said that he himself was also retiring after his 3 year tenure and he wished to thank all the Management Officers and Committee and K. Phelan for all their help and cooperation. He wished his successor, Deirdre McCarthy best of luck and promised his full support to her. Retiring Captains, Pat and Joanne thanked their respective Golfing Affairs Committee and Management for all their help. They had both enjoyed their year in office and wished their successors Noel ad Noreen all the best of luck. Officers and Committee; Incoming President Conty Cunningham said he would do his best for the Club and asked for members support. Jim Ryan; Paddy Bergin, Martin Butler, Frank Cullinan, Steve Crofton, John Hickey, Maureen Murphy, Pat Nevin, Josie O’Grady. Motions – A new category of Age Related Members for 18 years to 35 years was passed. For full details ring the office. Subs remain the same except for a small extra payment of €20.00 per member to help defray the cost of GUI/ILGU Poll Tax. The Hon. Tres. Makes a special plea to members who can to immediately pay their Annual Sub. Santa Claus - Santa Claus was a welcome visitor to the Club last Sunday. We thank Santa for coming and the organising committee for bringing such joy to all the kids.
