Clyde Update 7/29: We made the 250 mile round trip to Albany - TopicsExpress

Clyde Update 7/29: We made the 250 mile round trip to Albany today to see the surgeon. He did a thorough exam and discovered that the bumps/cobblestones that the Oncologist felt were actually 3 stitches from his surgery that had not been removed or had not dissolved. So he took those out. He also said that he did not feel anything unusual on the other side near the colon and said he thinks everything feels really good in there. What a relief. He was still concerned about where the blood had come from and then Clyde actually dribbled a bit on the exam table. He discovered that the site where the drainage tube had been was infected. I couldnt see it because the hair had grown over it and with him being in and out of the water it remained clean. So, hes on antibiotics. The surgeon feels they will clear things up, but if not well need to go in and see whats causing the problem. However, he thinks this is a remote possibility. I have to call in a week to let them know how hes doing, and if all goes well we can then resume treatments for the cancer. All in all it was a good visit and Im relieved it was nothing more serious. Thanks for all of your concern and continued prayers and good wishes. They are obviously working! xox
