CnES Sport and Health section are working with Swim Western Isles - TopicsExpress

CnES Sport and Health section are working with Swim Western Isles to develop talented swimmers at Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais, the Regional Sports facility for the Outer Hebrides. For a trial period of twelve months, this will mean that the Pool and Gym will be open from 7am each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from Monday 27th October. There will be Lane Swimming only at this time for talented local swimmers so they will be able to increase their training time as well as allowing the general public to access these areas before the working day. Tony Wade, Sports Facilities Services Manager said “By working with a voluntary group, we have a really exciting opportunity to both develop gifted swimmers and enhance the service for the general public. The ‘Slàinte Mhath’ sports facility access scheme is already the cheapest of its type in Scotland and this trial period will make this even more attractive. Over the next few weeks the recently appointed Community Sports Hub Officer, Danny Nicoll will be starting some early morning sessions targeted at people who are currently less active and don’t take part in any of our existing classes. We would encourage all our customers to make use of the opportunities that early morning opening provides as this would certainly strengthen the case for a continuation at the end of the trial period – and thanks is due to Swim Western Isles and staff at ISL for their contribution to the process”. Many thanks Sports Centre Staff
