Coat of many colors: This article is dedicated to three great men I have known in my life time. Elder Gorge Hagans of the Old Indian Bottom Association: Elder Claren Williams of the Old Indian Bottom Association: Brother Dewey Hagans deacon at the Little Home Church of the Old Indian Bottom Association. Why chose these three? They were part of Josephs coat of many colors. Elder George Hagans was one of the most respected men of his time and he was Gods choice to be moderator of the association in the 1950s and it never happened. Elder Claren William was Gods choice to be an officer in the association in the 1980s and it never happened. Brother Dewey was like a dad to any young person that came into the church in his time. The reason I say they were part of the coat of many colors is because this coat was telling the world that no matter what color of skin a person has they are part of Gods creation and can go to heaven. I have asked a question most of my life and havent received any answer. The questions is: If you cannot have a black person as an officer in the churches or associations how can you go to heaven with them. Now when we lose Brother Claren Williams we have lost the last great black leader of the Old Regular Baptist churches. If you know Brother Claren, go to him in his last few days, talk to him and get to know him a little better, you can learn a lot from this man; I have.
