Coats v. Dish Network - marijuana use in Colorado, is it considered lawful? A constitutional right? Both? Neither? Listen to the oral arguments from this mornings session in front of the Colorado Supreme Court. The issue is whether or not Coats, a former employee of Dish, was wrongfully terminated for smoking weed off-hours, off-site (in his home), and having a Colorado medical marijuana registration card. The arguments are quite interesting, my favorite part being at 29:30 when a Justice accuses Coats attorney of inserting an extra word (irreconcilable) into a federal statute he cited in his brief. Who does that?!?!
