Cocky update: At the vet 1st thing this morning for a full examination and exrays. Exrays showed no broken bones. Some bruising & possibly a little muscle damage. - That was surprising as I fully expected some pelvic area fractures/breaks. His right leg is less reactive than the left but there is still a little feeling in it. Left leg has feeling but not as much as it should. Conclusion is, that it is more than likely nerve damage So after a couple of hours of research & discussions it was decided to try a short term steroid treatment, (which is the preferred method for nerve damage) Steroid treatment in birds has a high risk, but it may be his only chance. Considering he is already on borrowed time it was decided to give it a go. He is on a lowered dose over a short time - 5 days - then weening off over 4 days. As one of the side effects from this is a lowered immune system we decided to keep the antibiotics up as a backup for his immune system. He will also be getting Physio twice a day and he will be closely monitored for any change. Time Frame: If there is some improvement within 7 days we will keep trying. If there is no improvement within 7 days then it will not get better. We did try to email the exrays but something went wrong, so I will post that when I get it. He is drinking by himself (i have to hold the bowl under his head) and eating a little, but not enough so I will have to crop feed him for the moment. This may stop just after the steroid treatment starts tomorrow morning as it should make him hungry.
