Cody Maitland, 18, of Port St. Lucie, the victim of a stabbing Friday night at MudJam in unincorporated St. Lucie County, is now in stable condition at an area hospital, Sheriff Ken J. Mascara said late this afternoon. Our detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident, which took place Friday night around 11, when the victim was stabbed several times in the upper body, the Sheriff said. MudJam concluded at 5 p.m. at 6800 Carlton Road, west of Fort Pierce. After Maitland was stabbed Frida night, deputies on duty at the event took him to the St. Lucie County Fire Rescue team, also on duty at the festival. From there, he was taken by helicopter to a trauma facility. The Sheriff asked anyone with information about the incident to call 9-1-1 in St. Lucie County.
