Cohasset, CA – Some residences in Cohasset have wells going dry or wells that are producing very little water because of dry conditions in Butte County. A whole community approach was used to make sure these residences have access to potable water. The Cohasset Community Association, Chico Unified School District, Butte County Office of Emergency Management, and FGL Environmental collaborated to provide Cohasset residences access to potable water at the Cohasset Elementary School. Potable water is now available at the Cohasset Elementary School, 9932 Cohasset Road, for Cohasset residences whose wells are dry or not producing adequate water. Cohasset residents can access up to 200 gallons of potable water per week. To make an appointment to access water, residents can call Cohasset Community Association Board President, Lisa Vegvary at 530.899.9823. Chico Unified School District was enthusiastic about providing assistance to the Cohasset Community when approached by the Cohasset Community Association and the Butte County Office of Emergency Management. FGL Environmental donated the water sampling required to ensure water quality because the well at the school has not been used for drinking water for several years. Each organization came together to provide the Cohasset Community with access to potable water at the Cohasset Elementary School.
