Cold Wave Gripped Kashmir Valley: Srinagar, December 21: The Chillai-Kalan or the great chill season of Jammu and Kashmir began today.The period of winter in the state however started on a positive note, as there was some improvement in night temperate which was otherwise hovering around minus 4 degrees for the past once week in Srinagar. On Saturday the fringes of the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar froze for the first time this winter. There has however been no snowfall so far. The Met office has predicted light to moderate snow on the higher reaches on Monday and Tuesday and no significant change in weather in the plains.
