Cold Weather Heating Safety - With the cold weather, people will try different ways to stay warm. -Space Heaters Need Space! Leave at least 3ft clearance from things that can catch fire such as furniture, newspapers, and bedding. -Heating is the leading cause of carbon monoxide poisoning. Have professionals inspect your furnace or chimney. -Never use propane or charcoal grills or heaters indoors as they pose a serious risk of CO poisoning. Also, never try to heat your home with a gas oven or stove. -Make sure your home has working CO & smoke detectors. -Carbon monoxide poisoning symptoms: sleepiness, headache, dizziness.
