Cold and coloured water ruffled by a very changeable breeze didnt - TopicsExpress

Cold and coloured water ruffled by a very changeable breeze didnt make for an ideal introduction to todays venue for Pete Scholes of Bowland Flyfishing - which made our catches all the more welcome! Double Nymphing tactics were the order of the day in the morning, and it didnt take Pete long to get off the mark with a cracking brownie. Two more followed soon afterwards, while I was suffering from a touch of Teflon hook syndrome - I just couldnt get them to stick as far as the net! A lovely grayling ended my unlucky spell, and more fish followed before the Large Darks started trickling off in greater numbers and we decided to spend the rest of the session hunting rising trout. This paid off straight away with six good brownies in six casts for me to the size 19 Plume Tip, and Pete also got in on the act before, after a few more fish, the hatch petered out and we decided to call it a day. Good sport given the conditions - tactical fishing in search of the best angle of presentation, with mostly above average-sized wild trout and some distinctly above-average banter! Great to see you Pete - heres some of the best pics....
