Cole Update! Cole remains in the PICU but has continued to improve. Hes no longer considered critically septic. His body is overcoming the infection that we feared would take his life earlier in the week. All the docs are amazed by his resilience. They plan to try to extubate him (remove the breathing tube and ventilator) later today or tomorrow. His labs reflect continued improvement. Once again, Cole has overcome. I cant wait to hear his voice and see his smile again. Though sedated he responds to stimuli and answers questions by nodding or shaking his head no. He can indicate when hes needing more pain meds or suction (despite large amounts of sedatives, because hes just TOO strong). Over the last few days Ive asked him if hes ok, and he nods yes. I asked him if hes scared, and he shakes his head no. #ColeStrong We are so grateful for all the love and prayers sent our way. Please continue to pray for Cole to have a meaningful recovery and get back to making memories and living life away from the hospital.
