Colic..every horsemans worse nightmare. I write this not for sympathy but to let my friends and Facebook client friends know that veterinarians are not immune. This is Tank.. I had grandiose dreams of winning the world on him.. The horse that excited me to go out and ride.. His goofy personality always ready to go do something. And what am I left with now.. Grief, frustration and ( I will admit) a bit of anger. Why him, why now WTF. So.. I am trying very hard to redirect my feelings.. Humility.. Even as a vet I couldnt save him as I wasnt given the oppurtunity . Acceptance.. I cant change it.. I hate it but there must be something I am supposed to learn from this. Most of all.. Thankfulness and appreciation for having the oppurtunity to own , ride and successfully compete on such an awesome horse if only for a very short time. RIP buddy.. Already miss you so much
