Collecting is a very important activity, over one third of the people in Great Britain collect something. In the summer of 1996 a gathering of Collectors took place at the Guildhall in Leicester and in this short film Professor Sue Pearce interviews some of them, in an attempt to find out why they do it. Sue Pearce is Professor of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. Her research interests have always concentrated on Material Culture, particularly human relationships with the artifact world and the nature and process of collecting.
