College Europa vs Lincoln Red Imps Preview College Europa FC vs Lincoln Red Imps. Date: 19.01.2015, Kick-Off: 20:30. The most anticipated match in the Premier Division takes centre stage at Victoria Stadium tonight, two footballing giants go into battle with second-place College Europa attempt to rock the boat of current leaders and reigning champions Lincoln. Victory would hand Lincoln a significant advantage in the Gibraltar top flight with Raul Procopios men two points clear of second-place College and are on an amazing nine match unbeaten streak! Bruno Akrapovics player will not take kindly to being considered part of the supporting cast, though, and the likes of Juanse Pegalajar, Cristian Toncheff and Jamie Bosio all have it within them to take on a leading role. But, as shown in Octobers encounter, Lincoln are still the better side after winning 3-0 in comprehensive fashion. Joseph & Roy Chipolina making it 2-0 at half-time and then an own goal by College keeper Cafer ended Colleges misery. Head2Head battles to look out for: Raul Navas vs Jamie Robba Raul Navas, the silent one has had quite a slow and boring season, with the keeper not really having to do much in games, but then again when you have the best defenders in front, what more could you ask for? Not to take it away from Raul, when called upon, he has produced some absolute wonders this season. Jamie Robba, the not so silent one. Gibs now established number one sees him play against his team-mates at country level for the first time in a College shirt. His performances recently have been nothing less than superb. Roy Chipolina vs Aymen Mouelhi Gibraltar & Lincolns captain goes into the game full of experience and as everyone in the local community would know, full of class. Gibraltars second Rock would be looking to continue on his good form against College and try and win the match for his team and even grab himself a goal. Aymen Mouelhi, the heart of Colleges defence has been anything but classy this season with College yet to concede since their thrashing against their opponents back in early October. Colleges own BFG height is his main factor in this players improvement since his arrival but the defender also has some pace about him. Liam Walker vs Juanse Pegalajar (Messi vs Ronaldo) These players have definitely stole the show this season, their ability on the ball and the way they change games is just unbelievable to watch and added some much needed competition into our league. Liam edges it for signing of the season, scoring 6 goals in 10 games and countless assists in his first season at Lincoln. We expect Liam to be the focal point at any Lincoln attack this evening. Juanse Pegalajar, the Spanish wonderkid. With Liam, this is also Juanses first season in Gibraltars leagues and showing he is just not another foreigner with an impressive 7 in 10 and has won over many peoples hearts. Juanse started the season as a winger but after their defeat to Lincoln, he switched into a more central role and looks more deadly as ever. Lee Casciaro vs Cristian Toncheff (Legend vs Legend-Killer) Lee the Legend, Gibraltars all-time top goalscorer, Respect isnt given, its earned and that is something Lee has done over the years, after his career-threatening injury last season, a few doubts were casted over, wondering if this would be the end for the legendary one would ever be at his best but was early to shut the critics up with an impressive 8 from 10 leaving him joint top goalscorer with who else but his opposition striker, Cristian Toncheff. Toncheff goes into the game with heaps of confidence, his season started off perfect and it doesnt look like toppling down any time soon. Toncheff has never been on the winning side against Lincoln and is yet to score a goal against them, hopefully he can put an end to this and give his side the victory. We expect the teams to be unchanged with both teams going into the game on the back of a nine win streak. The only real question is does Bosio play in his natural position or does Akrapovic take one risk too many and play him left-back and fear the Lincoln wingers terriorising him all game?
