College football, this season and especially this weekend shows why we need to decide if we are going to crown a champion based on quality of resume, or whos best at end of year. If it remains quality of resume, it reinforces why I like the BCS computers, and want to get rid of the human component. Weve heard how good UM is getting, how good Oregon is, and the SEC has been. However, the 2 newcomers to the SEC, who SEC guys criticized have beaten their champion and lead for a division crown, UM got beat by a team who isnt bad, but to whom they had no business losing to (according to perception), and Oregon after beating the quality competition in the Pac , has really only played 2 ranked teams, and lost to one convincingly (it wasnt as close as the score this weekend). If resume is the determinant, we need calculation valuing wins and SOS, and to get rid of the human element. If we are going with whos best at seasons end, let broaden that playoff and spot the dang ball!
