College homework: 1. Specific inappropriate behaviors I saw in the video pertained to students: late to class, entering loudly, cell phones going off, conversations during lecture, making noise, being distracting, packing up before the class session was over, leaving during class, and directly refusing to care. If a student is not paying attention, in a way all they are doing is 1, influencing others to do the same, or 2, holding the class back. At the same time, even if just for means of describing intolerable classroom behavior, the instructor did the same. He clearly was aware of everything going on and all he did was drop his jaw. Some students usually have problems with stricter teachers but if a student is preventing others from their education the only person with the right to drop or tell the student to leave the class is the professor. All he did was simply appease and in a way promoted the bad etiquette. Professors as well need to follow and exhibit good classroom etiquette. 2. To promote good academic success in a classroom environment, students should always pay strict attention to lectures adn information being presented to them, and save the chatter for after class when someone else doesnt understand something and has their classmates to assist them. Too often, or at least for the starting years of college students often misunderstand all their available resources or refuse to take advantage of them. Students should be attentive and on time to all their classes at bare minimum. Remember to silence cell phones and other unnecessary disruptive devices. an to be tolerable and respectful. If there is a simple list of rules to follow, do not challenge them, you are in someone elses home metaphorically, and you are a guest, not the host. 3. Ive only been in college for 2 semesters now and Ive taken online classes for the most part. I have had 1 or 2 indoor classes but in my opinion coming from high school last year, there is a far more discreet line for the definition of inappropriate behavior. Everyone is MUCH more respectful; no one is cursing the instructors and talking about yolo and swag. A college campus in my opinion is a place for people who wish to enrich their mind (if they arent attending for other reasons). I believe the culture of higher education is simply a higher understanding of maturity and integrity. Sure I could give you some snazzy list but why regurgitate what everyone else is probably gonna post after searching up college customs on Google? Their doesnt need to be a fine line of rules, it just requires a simple understanding of what it means to be out of high school and most presumably 19+ years old. Why still need to go over no talking when someone else is talking? Sharing is a kindergarten level instituted skill. If everyone pays attention, and maybe Ive just had a good mash of classroom mates and instructors, but if everyone just simply respects each other and understands what it means to be 18 years old and responsibility that comes with it, your classes will finish half and hour early every session. I dont want to be docked for an insufficient answer so here- College customs: 1. No cell phones 2. Be on time everytime
