College, you see, is not really about preparing you for the job market. Its about gaining the knowledge and skills you need to seize opportunities -- and that includes knowing when to walk away from something that makes you unhappy. I dont agree with this article wholeheartedly, but I do strongly agree with some things. Not everyone is in a privileged enough position to quit their job and venture off without guaranteed secondary income. And not everyone is fortunate enough to have that supportive parent to guide you along in doing so. And I do, to some sense, believe that college is about preparing you for the job market. College degrees are directly linked to resultant salaries all the time. I agree with the latter statement though, and its become relevant in evaluating what Im even doing here and the attitude Ive kept in the process. This doesnt just go for college. Stay happy errbody.
