Colliding galaxies provide a spectacular light show to astronomers. The colliding galaxies are located about 130 million light years from Earth, in the constellation of Canis Major. They have hosted three supernova explosions in the past 15 years and have produced a huge number of super bright X-ray lights (ULX). The scientists now tally a total of 28 ULXs between NGC 2207 and IC 2163. Stars are forming in this galaxy pair at a rate of 24 stars the mass of our sun per year. (Our Milky Way forms about one to three new suns every year.) For more science news: https://facebook/groups/thenewhorsemen/
